Alomran Award provides a unique chance for participants to demonstrate their extraordinary talents and skills in architecture and interior design. The award's goal is to stimulate and support innovative ideas while also recognizing the greatest designs that stand out for their ingenuity and excellence. This award is the first of its kind in Iraq, providing a pioneering platform for showcasing leading projects, enhancing collaboration, and exchanging experiences among engineers and designers. Additionally, the award offers participants the chance to receive guidance and evaluation from experts in design and engineering, contributing to a promising future for both participants and winners.

Criteria

alomran Award judging committee will evaluate each submission using five criteria: concept, overall form, function, distinction, and impact. Each will receive a score.

Concept

Mission: What is the project's mission? How does the design fulfill the mission?
Relevance: Why is it relevant?
Suitability for purpose: Why is the idea suitable?

Form

Aesthetics: Why does it look this way
Emotional appeal: How does it attract the user or target audience?
Execution: How was it executed?

Function

Usability: Why is it easy to use
Efficiency: Why does it work well?
User benefit: How does it serve the user?

Innovation

What is new? Why is it innovative
Brand distinction: How does it support the brand?

Impact

What goals have been achieved?
Have the goals been reached?
Social benefit: How does it serve or benefit the community?
Sustainability: Why is it sustainable?

Environmental impact:

Are the materials used in the design environmentally friendly?
Does the design reduce energy consumption?

Conditions

Use of Products Within the Project

It is required to use materials from the sponsoring companies to ensure enhanced design elegance, support corporate identity, and achieve effective interaction between the project and the company. This contributes to distinguished and continuous marketing value.

Material Indexing

Every material used must be numbered, and detailed product information must be included in a dedicated table to ensure organized and accurate documentation.

Design Concept

The design concept must be feasible, suitable for the Iraqi environment, and aligned with both practical and aesthetic requirements.

Group Participation

In the case of group participation, a single representative must be appointed for the team, or the project must be submitted under the name of a company or office. The prize will be officially awarded to the submitting entity.

Submission Requirements

Participants must submit the following:

  1. 3D and 2D representative models (2D specifically for architects)
  2. A concept description, including the sustainability aspect
  3. Explanation of the innovative elements in the project
  4. Commitment to AI usage guidelines in design (AI is only allowed for visual analysis and presentation, and must not be used entirely for the core concept)

Non-Objection Agreement

Participants must agree to all the competition’s regulations to ensure intellectual property rights and compliance with evaluation standards.

Projects that do not meet the above conditions will be disqualified. All intellectual property rights are reserved.

Awards

Six winners will be selected based on creativity, execution, and relevance.

  • Each winner receives a cash prize of 10,000,000 IQD
  • Official recognition during the final award ceremony, attended by leading figures from the architectural and cultural sectors
  • Exclusive publication of winning projects in renowned international architectural magazines, offering global visibility
