Sumaya Dabbagh

Biography

Sumaya Dabbagh, Founder and Principal of Dabbagh Architects and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), is recognized as one of the leading figures in contemporary architecture across the Gulf region. Her design philosophy is distinguished by a strong focus on identity, contextual sensitivity, and the human dimension of space.

Throughout her career, Dabbagh has delivered acclaimed projects that have made a lasting impact on the architectural landscape. Among her most notable works are the Gargash Mosque in Dubai, a recipient of several international awards, and the Mleiha Archaeological Centre. She also made a significant contribution to the Sharjah Architecture Triennial 2023 through her installation “From Earth to Earth.”

Her influential contributions have established her as a powerful architectural voice in the region, blending creative vision with a contemporary critical approach.
